I suppose my ‘gaming’ all began with my Atari ST. I’d love to get hold of one again now for some retro Rainbow Islands and Bubble Bobble!
Then there was the Sega Megadrive, on which I only ever played Sonic 2 and Columns. Around the same time I was developing a small obsession with C&C and Duke Nukem 3D on the god awful family pc we had at the time.
I was a bit of a one platform, one game girl for a while (probably due to my highly addictive personality and lack of funds) and for PS1 it was Colin McRae Rally all the way. I bought a PS2 at some point purely for the GTA series, and never really played anything else, although Guitar Hero was so full of epic win when it first came out - I just had to get involved. I kinda always thought at that point that I’d always be a Sony gal. How wrong I was…
One day, about 3 years ago now, I suddenly decided to buy an Xbox 360 with GTA IV. I had little to no interest in XBL at the time - my only online experience to that day had been a few rather unsuccessful Halo games at my cousin’s.
And then I discovered Left 4 Dead and history was made…
I met the most random bunch of people ever and loved every minute of it. There was no going back. People actually cared about these things called achievements and gamerscore and mine was about 500G Something had to be done…
To be perfectly honest the rest is all a blur - epic SP campaigns with insane difficulties, crazily frustrating MP cheevos, easy 1000s (yes, I played Avatar) all helped to make me the crazy achievement whore I am today, and I fully intend to have the highest gamerscore in DTI indefinitely.
Bye for now!
